Bison IV Demonstrates Durable Inventory
DENVER, June 17, 2026 -- Bison Oil & Gas IV (“Bison”) today announced the successful continued development of long lateral wells in the DJ Basin of Colorado and Wyoming. Over the past 12 months, Bison has drilled, completed and turned in line 77 gross wells for total gross capital of $509 million. Bison’s average lateral length has increased to 11,596 feet across the same well set, averaging $570 / completed lateral foot (“CLF”) over the entire 12-month program, including multiple test pads. Highlights of Bison’s development program include the five-well Critter Creek 17 pad and the six-well Critter Creek 24 pad in Bison’s Highlands area, averaging 16,791 CLF per well for total gross CAPEX of $99 million ($535 / CLF). In addition, 10 Dorado wells in Bison’s Sandy Bay area averaging 12,620 CLF for total gross CAPEX of $63 million ($496 / CLF) were turned in line in April, making over half a million barrels of oil in the first 60 days.
CEO and Founder, Austin Akers commented, “Bison continues to successfully push lateral lengths upward, per foot well costs downward, and maintain basin leading liquids EURs resulting in wells with some of the lowest F&D costs of any wells in the lower 48, including the Permian Basin. I am proud of our operations team for continuing to lead the basin in efficiencies, as well as our land and regulatory team who have put together the most long lateral optimized position in the DJ. We expect lateral lengths over the next 24 months of our development program to average 15,000 CLF and ~$500 / CLF based on these successful efforts to date and our continued success on cost cutting measures such as in-basin sand contracts and simulfrac”
